Epidemiology
Forest encephalitis (FE), also known as tick-borne encephalitis (Tick-borne encephalitis, TBE), is an acute infectious disease of the central nervous system caused by forest encephalitis virus. Forest encephalitis virus belongs to the genus Flavivirus of Flaviviridae family. The virus particles are spherical with a diameter of 40-50nm. The molecular weight is about 4×106Da, and the virus genome is a positive-sense, single-stranded RNA[1]. Clinically, it is characterized by high fever, headache, coma, rapid onset of meningeal irritation, and muscle paralysis of the neck and limbs, and has a high mortality rate. Early and rapid diagnosis of forest encephalitis virus is the key to the treatment of forest encephalitis, and the establishment of a simple, specific and rapid etiological diagnosis method is of great significance in the clinical diagnosis of forest encephalitis[1,2].

Recommended extraction reagent: Nucleic Acid Extraction or Purification Kit (YDP315-R) by Tiangen Biotech(Beijing) Co.,Ltd., the extraction should be conducted according to the instructions strictly. The recommended extracted sample volume is 140μL and the recommended elution volume is 60μL.
Recommended extraction reagent: Macro & Micro-Test General DNA/RNA Kit (HWTS-3017-50, HWTS-3017-32, HWTS-3017-48, HWTS-3017-96) and Macro & Micro-Test Automatic Nucleic Acid Extractor (HWTS-3006, HWTS-3006C, HWTS-3006B). the extraction should be conducted according to the instructions strictly. The recommended extracted sample volume is 200μL and the recommended elution volume is 80μL.
