Influenza A Virus/ Influenza B Virus
Product name
HWTS-RT174-Influenza A Virus/ Influenza B Virus Nucleic Acid Detection Kit (Fluorescence PCR)
Epidemiology
Based on the antigenic differences between NP gene and M gene, influenza viruses can be divided into four types: influenza A virus (IFV A), influenza B virus (IFV B), influenza C virus (IFV C) and influenza D virus (IFV D)[1]. Influenza A virus has many hosts and complex serotypes, and can acquire the ability to spread across hosts through genetic recombination and adaptive mutations. Humans lack lasting immunity to influenza A virus, so people of all ages are generally susceptible. Influenza A virus is the main pathogen causing influenza pandemics[2]. Influenza B virus is mostly prevalent in a small area and currently has no subtypes. The main ones that cause human infection are the B/Yamagata lineage or the B/Victoria lineage. Among the confirmed cases of influenza in 15 countries in the Asia-Pacific region each month, the confirmed rate of influenza B virus is 0-92%[3]. Unlike influenza A virus, specific groups such as children and the elderly are susceptible to influenza B virus and are prone to complications, which imposes a greater burden on society than influenza A virus[4].
