Comprehensively prevent and control cancer!

Every year on April 17th is World Cancer Day.

01 World Cancer Incidence Overview

In recent years, with the continuous increase of people's life and mental pressure, the incidence of tumors is also increasing year by year.

Malignant tumors (cancers) have become one of the major public health problems that seriously threaten the health of the Chinese population. According to the latest statistical data, the death of malignant tumors accounts for 23.91% of all the causes of death among residents, and the incidence and death of malignant tumors have continued to rise in the past ten years. But cancer does not mean a "death sentence." The World Health Organization clearly pointed out that as long as it is detected early, 60%-90% of cancers can be cured! One-third of cancers are preventable, one-third of cancers are curable, and one-third of cancers can be treated to prolong life.

02 What is a tumor

Tumor refers to the new organism formed by the proliferation of local tissue cells under the action of various tumorigenic factors. Studies have found that tumor cells undergo metabolic changes different from normal cells. At the same time, tumor cells can adapt to changes in the metabolic environment by switching between glycolysis and oxidative phosphorylation.

03 Individualized Cancer Therapy

Individualized cancer treatment is based on the diagnosis information of disease target genes and the results of evidence-based medical research. It provides the basis for patients to receive the correct treatment plan, which has become the trend of modern medical development. Clinical studies have confirmed that by detecting the gene mutation of biomarkers, gene SNP typing, gene and its protein expression status in biological samples of tumor patients to predict drug efficacy and evaluate prognosis, and guide clinical individualized treatment, it can improve efficacy and reduce adverse reactions , to promote the rational use of medical resources.

Molecular testing for cancer can be divided into 3 main types: diagnostic, hereditary, and therapeutic. Therapeutic testing is at the core of so-called "therapeutic pathology" or personalized medicine, and more and more antibodies and small molecule inhibitors that can target tumor-specific key genes and signaling pathways can be applied to the treatment of tumors.

Molecular targeted therapy of tumors targets the marker molecules of tumor cells and intervenes in the process of cancerous cells. Its effect is mainly on tumor cells, but has little effect on normal cells. Tumor growth factor receptors, signal transduction molecules, cell cycle proteins, apoptosis regulators, proteolytic enzymes, vascular endothelial growth factor, etc. can all be used as molecular targets for tumor therapy. On December 28, 2020, the "Administrative Measures for the Clinical Application of Antineoplastic Drugs (Trial)" issued by the National Health and Medical Commission clearly pointed out that: For drugs with clear gene targets, the principle of using them must be followed after target gene testing.

04 Tumor-targeted genetic testing

There are many types of genetic mutations in tumors, and different types of genetic mutations use different targeted drugs. Only by clarifying the type of gene mutation and correctly selecting targeted drug therapy can patients benefit. Molecular detection methods were used to detect the variation of genes related to commonly targeted drugs in tumors. By analyzing the impact of genetic variants on drug efficacy, we can help doctors develop the most appropriate individualized treatment plan

05 Solution

Macro & Micro-Test has developed a series of detection kits for tumor gene detection, providing an overall solution for tumor targeted therapy.

Human EGFR Gene 29 Mutations Detection Kit (Fluorescence PCR)

This kit is used to in vitro qualitatively detection of common mutations in exons 18-21 of the EGFR gene in samples from human non-small cell lung cancer patients.

1. The system introduces internal reference quality control, which can comprehensively monitor the experimental process and ensure the quality of the experiment.

2. High sensitivity: The detection of nucleic acid reaction solution can stably detect a mutation rate of 1% under the background of 3ng/μL wild type.

3. High specificity: No cross-reaction with wild-type human genomic DNA and other mutant types.
