Epidemiology
Ebola virus belongs to Filoviridae, which is an unsegmented single-stranded negative-strand RNA virus. Viruses are long filaments with an average virion length of 1000nm and a diameter of about 100nm. The Ebola virus genome is an unsegmented negative-strand RNA with a size of 18.9kb, encoding 7 structural proteins and 1 non-structural protein. Ebola virus can be divided into types like Zaire, Sudan, Bundibugyo, Tai Forest and Reston. Among them, Zaire type and Sudan type have been reported to cause many people’s deaths from infection. EHF (Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever) is an acute hemorrhagic infectious disease caused by the Ebola virus. Humans are mainly infected by contact with body fluids, secretions and excreta of patients or infected animals, and the clinical manifestations are mainly protruding fever, bleeding and multiple organ damage. EHF has a high mortality rate of 50%-90%.

Work Flow
Option 1.
Recommended extraction reagent: QIAamp Viral RNA Mini Kit (52904), Nucleic Acid Extraction or Purification Reagent (YDP315-R) by Tiangen Biotech (Beijing) Co.,Ltd. It should be extracted in strict accordance to the instructions, and the recommended extraction volume of sample is 140μL and the recommended elution volume is 60μL.
Option 2.
Recommended extraction reagent: Macro & Micro-Test Viral DNA/RNA Kit (HWTS-3004-32, HWTS-3004-48, HWTS-3004-96) and Macro & Micro-Test Automatic Nucleic Acid Extractor (HWTS-3006).It should be extracted according to the instructions. The extraction sample volume is 200μL , and the recommended elution volume is 80μL.
Option 3.
Recommended extraction reagents: Nucleic Acid Extraction Reagent (1000020261) and High Throughput Automated Sample Preparation System(MGISP-960) by BGI should be extracted according to the instructions. The extraction volume is 160μL, and the recommended elution volume is 60μL.
